Repair, don’t sell Bradenton's waterfront City Hall

City council members are considering factors including a booming downtown in the possibility of selling the building that houses Bradenton’s City Hall, police department, auditorium and other municipal offices.

Dear City Hall people,

How it saddens me to read in the Bradenton Herald about the planned sale of our beautiful City Hall! A city like ours should be able to maintain a building like this.

My hometown, Wesel, in Germany, is very proud of its City Hall, which was built around 1250, and rebuilt after WWII in its original shape.

And we do not appreciate a jewel like our City Hall, representing Bradenton’s citizens. How far is greed going to obsess us?

Thank you for your attention. I am 90 years old and have lived in our beloved city since 1981, and I am now a member of the Westminster Manor retirement community.
