Trump represents values Democrats once held

Thousands of people showed up to the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa on Monday as Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made a furious round of campaign stops on the first day of early voting.

I wish Trump would say the following to the electorate: “I have a confession to make ... I love women! I love their strength. I love their softness. I love their sense of protection. I love their sense of compassion. I love their sense of fairness. I love their sense of forgiveness. I love their beauty! That said, now let’s get on to the problems facing our country: security, terrorism, immigration, drugs, joblessness, poverty and health care!”

I had been a Democrat for 85 years. I believed that was the party protecting the common man from the rich, politically elite. Last year, I became Republican to vote for Trump. He represents the values that the Democrats once stood for.
