Trump disrespectful, doesn’t merit support

It was with disbelief when watching the Sept. 21 local evening news and learning that a local eatery had posted a sign immediately outside its establishment that virtually encouraged diners to bring with them their concealed weapons (with a permit of course!).

It also proclaimed that the owner (I assume) was one of the “deplorables” who had been recently politicized and to cast one’s vote for Donald Trump in the upcoming election. The message certainly appealed to some, who then began to rally along the side walk while waving their banners and placards proclaiming support.

However, my disbelief was soon to be added with anger when the TV news commentator asked one of the participants why she was taking part in the demonstration. She gave the answer (in part), “To show respect for the candidate.”

Obviously, one has a right to express their views, but to me, I find it quite incomprehensible how anyone can show and give respect to a presidential “wannabe” who openly insults our veterans and who mocks disabled people. To me, the thing that is equally disconcerting is the fact that he has followers!
