Slow drivers in left lane violating law

Stay out of the left lane!

Thank you, Dona Musitano, for your well-written and researched letter published Aug. 29 regarding slow drivers in the left lane.

I travel the interstate three days a week and get very frustrated with the slower left-lane drivers. I believe that they want to stay in this lane to: (1) pretend they are policing and controlling other drivers, and (2) they are really inept, using their cell phones and texting as I have seen both.

And you’re right. I, too, have seen police drive by and then unfortunately the drivers continue to sit in the left lane thinking it’s OK.

I believe that the new information signs on the interstate (for traffic issues) would be a perfect place to kindly remind slow left-lane drivers to move over or risk being fined. Until your letter, I did not know this was a law initiated in July 2015 and probably many people don’t know it either.

So, Dona Musitano, thank you again and with any luck, more slow left-lane drivers will move over!
