Why is the media feeding the American people a false equivalency between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump? Is it that by covering only the horse race and keeping it close they have a lot to gain financially?

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are not two equivalent, equally qualified candidates for president of the United States. This is not a normal election in which Americans have a choice between two ideologies or two sets of policies, far from it. This is a choice between sanity and insanity.

Donald Trump is a reality television celebrity who knows nothing about running government. He has no realistic policy positions, only changing positions that are steeped in generalities and based on appealing to racism and prejudice.

Each step he has taken in his campaign has brought him closer to the values of the KKK and white supremacists, who celebrate his candidacy. Donald Trump lacks the knowledge, ability or temperament to be president of the United States.

In sharp contrast, Hillary Clinton has devoted her life to public service since her time in Arkansas, to First Lady, to senator, to secretary of state. Her intelligence and devotion to liberal causes (not to mention that she is a woman) has intimidated Republicans for 30 years. They have tried to accuse her and her husband of wrongdoing from Whitewater to Benghazi to those emails to the Clinton Foundation and found no criminality or misconduct.

Hillary Clinton’s low honesty rating exists only because of all these false accusations. In reality, since Republicans have found nothing in all of their investigations, she should be celebrated as the “cleanest politician in Washington.” Our media has a responsibility to stop feeding us a false equivalency. There is only one reasonable choice for our next president and that is Hillary Clinton.
