Support Thin Blue Line Act

This has been a brutal summer for law enforcement officers in the U.S. We live in a safe community, thanks in large part to the men and women on patrol every day.

It’s no wonder so many kids grow up wanting to become a police officer — they answer the call when we are in harm’s way and take steps to prevent any harm from occurring in the first place. Sometimes I think these officers’ efforts go unnoticed.

I’m grateful to see Rep. Vern Buchanan co-sponsored the Thin Blue Line Act to toughen penalties against anyone who murders police and other first responders. He wants Congress to vote on this bill as soon as they return.

I hope Vern’s efforts pay off so each and every law enforcement officer across the country knows America has their back.
