Bradenton police officer embodies the best of law enforcement
Good cops are everywhere. Bradenton Police Officer Matthew Caradimos is one. His generosity to a couple of theft victims brought holiday cheer that no amount of money can accomplish.
John and Jeanette Kuskoski lost their outside laser light Christmas display to thieves lacking in any sense of decency. Very distraught, they called police. Officer Caradimos took their theft report. Then he returned the next day and left a gift on their front yard, an inflatable Santa Claus with a note that said, "Hope this will bring you some holiday cheer."
Well, yes, it did.
"I had tears from happiness," Jeanette Kuskoski told the Herald in Thursday's page-one report.
Cheers to Caradimos, whose Christmas spirit is an inspiration.
Good cops are everywhere.
In South Carolina this week, Lt. Keith Wills responded to a routine shoplifting call at a Walmart. He found a man wearing a pair of stolen sneakers. The 49-year-old suspect confessed but told the officer he had no choice. Just released from jail after serving six months for a suspended license, he only wore a pair of jail-issued flip-flops but wanted to walk home to another city.
Officer Wills called his wife and asked her to bring shoes and other items from their church's homeless ministry to give to the man.
And the man was on his way home.
This are just two stories about good cops. Merry Christmas to law enforcement everywhere.
