Why not lower SRQ landing fees?

We really miss flying into Sarasota-Bradenton airport. It’s small, friendly and close to home.

On a flight back from Indianapolis on Southwest, I asked the gate employee why Southwest does not fly into Sarasota. Her reply was the landing fees are among the most expensive in the region. So, I think why not lower fees and do more business? I would really like to see more carriers coming to our “slightly” used airport.
