Powerball player wins $1 million at a Publix store in Florida. Here’s where
A Powerball player just missed the jackpot — but still won a life-changing prize in Florida.
The player bought a ticket that matched all but one number picked in the Oct. 15 drawing, making it worth $1 million, results show.
The winning numbers: white balls 10-13-28-34-47, with red Powerball 15.
So, where was the lucky ticket sold? It came from a Publix grocery store on Merrill Road in Jacksonville, the Florida Lottery wrote in a news release.
The player won big after their $2 ticket matched all the white balls. But the ticket was one number from scoring the jackpot prize, which stood at an estimated $273 million.
No one hit the jackpot, making $1 million wins in Florida and Kentucky the largest prizes in the country the night of the drawing. The game’s top prize is now roughly $295 million, according to the Powerball website.
The win came on the same night another Powerball player in Florida scored $150,000, results show.
As of early Oct. 16, the Florida Lottery on its website didn’t say whether the two lucky ticket holders had come forward. In the Sunshine State, Powerball winners have about six months to claim their prizes.
