Winning $110,000 lottery ticket is sold at a Publix in Florida. Here’s where

A lottery player is in for a big windfall after hitting the jackpot in Florida.

The player bought a Fantasy 5 ticket that matched all the numbers picked in the Oct. 2 evening drawing, making it worth more than $110,000, results show.

The winning numbers: 1-5-9-17-23.

So, where was the lucky ticket sold? It came from a Publix grocery store in Satellite Beach, a roughly 65-mile drive southeast from Orlando, the Florida Lottery wrote in a news release.

Fantasy 5 offers tickets starting at $1. To score the jackpot prize, a person’s ticket must match all five numbers picked in a drawing, according to game rules.

As of early Oct. 3, the Florida Lottery on its website didn’t say whether anyone had claimed the prize, which totaled $110,423.24. In the Sunshine State, the winners of drawing games have about six months to come forward.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
