Powerball player just misses $160 million jackpot, but still wins big in Florida
A Powerball player just missed a massive jackpot — but still won a life-changing prize in Florida.
The player bought a ticket that matched all but one number picked in the Sept. 29 drawing, making it worth $1 million, results show.
The winning numbers: white balls 1-3-27-60-65, with red Powerball 16.
So, where was the lucky ticket sold? It came from a Golden Ox Liquors store in Jacksonville, the Florida Lottery wrote in a news release.
The player is set to get richer after their $2 ticket matched all of the white balls. But it was one number from hitting the jackpot, which stood at an estimated $160 million the night of the drawing, according to the Powerball website.
As of early Sept. 30, the Florida Lottery on its website didn’t say whether the $1 million prize had been claimed. In the Sunshine State, Powerball winners have about six months to cash in.
