Frustrations at a McDonald’s drive-thru turned deadly when one man pulled a gun and fatally shot another customer, according to police in Florida.

Brian Collins, 30, died at the scene, despite efforts of a bystander to save his life, Daytona Beach police reported in a news release.

The shooting happened Sunday, Sept. 8, at the McDonald’s on LPGA Boulevard, police said. Daytona Beach is about a 55-mile drive northeast from Orlando.

“When officers arrived at the scene, they observed a female actively performing CPR on a male victim who was on the ground in the parking lot with an apparent gunshot wound,” Daytona Beach police said.

“Another male who was standing nearby approached the officers and identified himself as the person who shot the victim.”

The suspect and victim clashed during “a road rage incident that started in the restaurant’s drive-thru line,” police said.

“An altercation occurred in the parking lot between the two parties,” police said. “The male who shot the victim stated that he feared for his life.”

Details of what the two men argued over were not released.

An investigation is underway, police said. No charges have been filed, police said.
