Great Dane was adopted from Florida rescue. Now, ‘majestic’ pup needs another new home
A Great Dane was adopted from a Florida animal rescue — and now, the “majestic” pup needs another new home.
“Sometimes despite our best efforts things don’t work out the way we would like,” the Northwest Florida Great Dane Rescue wrote Dec. 4 in a Facebook post. “This has been the unfortunate situation with Midnight.”
Now 4 years old, Midnight first came to the rescue in October 2019 after a “backyard breeder had surrendered her mom, Cheyenne, and four 3-month-old black puppies to a local animal shelter,” the Great Dane organization told McClatchy News in an email.
Midnight was first adopted about three years ago. Then, in 2022, her family started to notice that she didn’t do well around other animals.
“After quite a time trying, the consensus among us (vet, trainer, and rescue) is that Midnight needs a home where she can be an only ‘child,’” the owners wrote in the rescue’s Facebook post.
As of Dec. 4, Midnight was up for adoption. She’s described as a gentle 102-pound dog that is a “big snuggler on her terms.”
“She loves to sleep on a soft couch or bed, play tug of war, sometimes fetch, and loves it when I run around with her,” the previous owner said. “She likes going on walks but on quiet streets where there won’t be many people or dogs.”
