How did a Publix pharmacy learn of an Adderall theft? Someone’s lover, the state says

A registered pharmacy technician working at a Boca Raton Publix got her license suspended after, the Florida Department of Health said, her lover told on her.

That’s according to the emergency suspension order (ESO) on the license that Delray Beach resident Brittney Gretka has had since March 2012.

“On or about Jan. 5, 2020, Ms. Gretka’s paramour contacted the Publix pharmacy and stated Ms. Gretka had diverted Adderall,” the ESO said.

Upon checking prescriptions in ready status, Publix found one prescription for the attention deficit disorder drug with four missing tablets.

“Ms. Gretka admitted taking the four missing pills,” the ESO said. “Ms. Gretka’s behavior in stealing controlled substances from her employer demonstrates she lacks the judgment and moral character needed to practice as a pharmacy technician.”
