Police say party pooper unplugged a bounce house while children were inside
Police say this guy pulled the plug on a child’s birthday party.
A 70-year-old man was charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing by Port St. Lucie police after he allegedly unplugged a bounce house, trapping six children inside the deflating walls, according to the Palm Beach Post. The children, between the ages of 1 and 10 years old, were celebrating a 1-year-old’s birthday.
The incident happened last month, and Charles M. Wotruba was caught on surveillance video pulling the extension cord from the bounce house, according to the Palm Beach Post. He allegedly drove to the area near the party and walked inside, despite living just a few hundred feet away.
Police received tips identifying Wotruba as the suspect, and he was arrested at his home and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail, the Palm Beach Post reported. When police arrived at his home, he allegedly told officers that his attorney told him not to speak to them.
None of the children was injured in the incident, but the party ended quickly because, “guests were uncomfortable by what happened,” the newspaper reported.
