Vice President Pence to attend Republican fundraiser at Buchanan’s Longboat Key home
A National Republican Congressional Committee fundraiser at Congressman Vern Buchanan’s home will be boosted by Vice President Mike Pence’s presence.
Pence is planning to attend the event on Longboat Key, which is meant to generate donations for the NRCC’s mission of winning Republican seats in the U.S. House of Representatives in November. The fundraiser is not open to the public.
Buchanan, R-Longboat Key, served in Congress alongside Pence from 2007 to 2013. Money raised from Friday’s fundraiser will go to the NRCC. Between 100 and 150 people are expected to attend.
It’s not the first time Pence has ventured to Florida this year. In January, the former governor of Indiana campaigned for President Donald Trump at events in Central Florida. He also spoke at an event near Miami earlier this month.
