Early voting in Manatee County begins Oct. 19. Here’s what you need to know
If you haven’t already chosen mail-in or absentee ballots to vote in the Nov. 3 general election, early in-person voting is yet another option other than voting on Election Day.
Early voting has become increasingly popular since the Florida Legislature began allowing it in 2004.
Early voting begins Oct. 19 in Florida and Manatee County. Select polling stations will be open for in-person voting through Nov. 1.
According to some recent polls, nearly half of Floridians have made up their mind and plan to either cast their ballots early by mail or participate in early voting. Florida is among 39 states that allow early voting with three states kicking off early voting as soon as Sept. 18.
The six early voting polling stations in Manatee County will be available to voters from 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Unlike Election Day where voters must cast their ballot at his or her designated polling station, all of the six early voting polling stations are open to all registered Manatee County voters wishing to vote early.
