Senate candidate Carlos Beruff of Bradenton to speak at Republican fundraiser
MANATEE -- U.S. Senate candidate Carlos Beruff will speak at the Manatee GOP's annual Lincoln Day dinner Saturday.
Monica Crowley, a political commentator for Fox News and a columnnist and editor for the Washington Times, is the keynote speaker for the annual fundraising dinner.
This year's starts at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Polo Grill in Lakewood Ranch. The dinner is $125 per person.
Beruff is the owner of developer Medallion Home in Manatee County. He is trying to market himself as the outsider candidate for U.S. Senate with business experience a la presidential candidate Donald Trump.
A poll conducted by the Washington Post and Univision that asked likely Republican voters who they would vote for if the U.S. Senate primary race were today and the candidates were Beruff, Ron DeSantis, David Jolly, Carlos Lopez-Cantera and Todd Wilcox found that "Don't know" led the field at 74 percent. The next highest percentage was 6 percent, and Beruff got less than 1 percent.
