State College of Florida Sarasota Manatee Community Conversation presidential forecasts
SCF Community Conversation presidential forecasts
The following presidential candidate winners were forecast Thursday at the State College of Florida Sarasota Manatee political panel known as the Community Conversation.
Frank Alcock, New College associate professor of political science: Hillary Clinton for the Democrats and Donald Trump for the Republicans.
"I don't know what Trump could say or do to shake the support he has."
Rosalie Shaffer, president of the League of Women Voters of Manatee County: Clinton and an "establishment" candidate. "An establishment candidate will emerge because the math just doesn't work (for Trump to win the general election)."
Michael Rogers, assistant professor of comparative politics and American government at SCF: Clinton and Trump. "If there's a darkhorse, it's (Florida Sen.) Marco Rubio. If he stays in the top three, the establishment will rally around him. I don't see a path for Bernie Sanders to the nomination."
