Prince tributes range from front pages to Niagara Falls

Newspapers and websites honored Prince with front pages and redesigns, after the prolific singer and songwriter was found dead at his home in Minnesota Thursday.

His hometown paper, the Minneapolis Star Tribune, paid tribute to a favorite son with a full spread on the paper’s front page:

Other papers and magazines followed suit with their covers:

Google created a Google Doodle—temporarily redesigning the page’s logo in purple with falling raindrops—in tribute:

Snapchat also paid homage to the singer’s famous song, adding a filter to its app that superimposed purple rain onto users’ photos Thursday.

The tributes even extended to real life, including parties in Prince’s honor and an unintentional nod to his famous song at Niagara Falls:
