Wall St muted as investors asses inflation data, Mideast peace prospects

Wall Street's main indexes opened flat on Thursday as investors processed key inflation data, while intensifying tensions between the U.S. and Iran kept optimism surrounding a peace deal in check.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 16.7 points, or 0.03%, at the open to 50,660.98. The S&P 500 fell 0.5 points, or 0.01%, at the open to 7,519.82​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 11.8 points, or 0.04%, to 26,686.53 at the opening bell.
