Tickets sold in Michigan, Oregon, Texas and Wyoming matched five winning numbers and the Power Play multiplier but not the Powerball to win $2 million each in the drawing, the national Powerball site said.
The lucky $1 million ticket was sold at a Sheetz service station in Canfield, which is about a 75-mile drive southeast from Cleveland.
Tickets sold in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania matched five winning numbers but not the Powerball to win $1 million each.
Two players in California, which adjusts lottery prize amounts based on the number of tickets sold and number of winners, won $984,594 each, the California Lottery said.
Across the U.S., 117 players matched four numbers drawn and the Powerball to win $50,000, and 36 more added the Power Play multiplier to win $100,000.
The winning numbers were 3, 16, 29, 61 and 69 with a Powerball of 22. The Power Play multiplier was 2X.
Powerball jackpot rises
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $1.7 billion, with a cash value of about $770.3 million, for the next drawing Saturday, Sept. 6, the national Powerball site said.
More than 6.3 million other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $200, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won May 31, when a California player hit the $204.5 million grand prize.
