A Texas woman found her boyfriend shot to death after he disappeared during a video call, police told news outlets.

Houston police say the woman was on a FaceTime call with her boyfriend while he waited at a bus stop on the city’s north side at about 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, KPRC reported.

While on the call, police say she heard a man approach her boyfriend and strike up a “friendly conversation,” but moments later, he started running away from the bus stop and then the call went silent, the outlet reported.

Worried, the woman tracked his phone’s location and found him in a grassy area near the bus stop, police told KHOU. He had been shot, police said.

The man was dead before authorities arrived at the scene, police told KTRK.

Police said an investigation is underway and officers are searching for a suspect, the station reported.
