Driver pushes motorcyclist into traffic in deadly road rage clash, CO cops say
A man was arrested after being accused of pushing motorcyclists into traffic, leaving one dead, Colorado authorities said.
On Aug. 10, 45-year-old Diego Ortega-Camero was driving when he got into a verbal altercation with two men on a motorcycle, leading to one of the motorcyclists firing a gun, according to a news release by the Denver Police Department.
Later, the two men and Ortega-Camero met at an intersection, then Ortega-Camero intentionally crashed into the motorcyclists, which pushed them into oncoming traffic, police said.
A driver hit the two motorcyclists, killing one and leaving another with life-threatening injuries, officers said.
Ortega-Camero fled the scene on foot but was later found and arrested, police said.
Police did not identify the man who was killed and said his name will be released by the Office of the Medical Examiner.
Ortega-Camero was charged with vehicular homicide and vehicular assault, according to jail records.
He appeared in court Aug. 12 and was denied bond, records show.
