Jail officer accused of engaging in sex acts with inmate, Colorado deputies say

A jail officer was arrested after being accused of performing sex acts with an inmate, Colorado deputies said.

An inmate at the Weld County Jail reported that 30-year-old detention officer, Jacob Golden, participated in sex acts with a 27-year-old inmate, according to a July 16 Facebook post by deputies.

After conducting an investigation, detectives learned, while on duty, Golden engaged in sex acts with the inmate between July 12 and July 14, deputies said.

Golden, who was a post-certified detention deputy and worked in the Greeley-based jail for four years, was arrested on July 15, deputies said.

He was arrested before his next shift and is facing two felony counts of sexual conduct in a correctional facility by an employee, deputies said.

Deputies said he is on paid unpaid administrative leave while the investigation takes place.

The investigation remains ongoing, deputies said.

Greeley is about a 65-mile drive northeast from Denver.
