The 17-year-old daughter of a Georgia couple found fatally shot inside their home is now accused in their deaths, according to deputies.

Sarah Grace Patrick was charged with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault after turning herself in to authorities Tuesday, July 8, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said at a news conference.

Investigators said she was accompanied by her father after learning there were warrants for her arrest.

Patrick’s arrest comes nearly five months after her mother, Kristin Brock, 41, and stepfather, James Brock, 45, were found shot to death at the family’s Carrollton home. Deputies responded to the “tragic scene” on Feb. 20 and discovered their bodies.

Deputies didn’t discuss a possible motive for the killings.

“Our prayers remain with the families of James and Kristin Brock, and especially with their young daughter who was at home during this horrific crime,” the sheriff’’s office said in a news release.

The couple’s youngest daughter, now 6, discovered their bodies, Ashley Hulsey, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, told reporters. Patrick then called 911.

At Tuesday’s news conference, authorities said “mountains of evidence” linked Patrick to the couple’s deaths but stopped just short of giving specifics, citing the ongoing investigation.

“We feel confident that she is responsible for their murders,” Hulsey said, adding that additional arrests were possible.

The investigation remains ongoing, the sheriff’s office said.

Carrollton is about a 50-mile drive southwest from downtown Atlanta.
