A bear snagged a trail camera in its mouth and the camera recorded the theft, leading New Hampshire police straight to the “suspect.”

“This morning we received a report of a camera theft in town,” Jackson Police Department said in a May 14 video on Facebook. “Fortunately the suspect was caught on the camera in the act!”

The video shows a bear trying to get the camera in its mouth as another bear watches nearby. The bear knocks the camera to the ground and seems about ready to take off running.

“Does anyone recognize this suspect? He was described as wearing all black and it occurred in the early morning hours. (Very suspicious),” police said. “Junior detectives all help is appreciated. This kind of conduct is unbearable!”

Police didn’t say how officers recovered the camera to get the footage.

“I think our handcuffs would bearly fit,” the department said in the comments.

Jackson is about a 90-mile drive northeast from Concord.
