Wendy’s ‘reimagines’ Frosty with 2 new desserts. Here’s when you can try them
Fans of Wendy’s Frosty treats can soon customize the dessert to their liking.
Frosty Swirls arrive in the Wendy’s app Thursday, April 11, and in stores nationwide Tuesday, April 15, according to the Ohio-based burger chain.
Frosty Fusions will follow, launching May 12 at participating Wendy’s restaurants nationwide.
A “reimagining” of the frozen dessert, customers have the option to add toppings and mix-ins to a classic chocolate or vanilla Frosty, according to a Wendy’s news release. The changes were first announced at its annual Investor Day event in March, offering “a fresh take” on the beloved dessert.
Frosty Swirls and Fusions will seemingly replace the limited-time Thin Mints Frosty, which launched in February.
McClatchy News reached out to Wendy’s for more information April 10 and was awaiting a response.
The new Frosty Swirls starts with a classic chocolate or vanilla Frosty and is then swirled with one of three toppings:
- Strawberry Frosty swirl
- Caramel Frosty swirl
- Brownie batter Frosty Swirl
The Frosty Fusion is similar and includes customers’ choice of a topping and mix-ins, including:
- Pop-Tarts strawberry Frosty Fusion made with strawberry sauce and strawberry Pop-Tart pieces.
- Oreo brownie Frosty Fusion made with brownie batter sauce and Oreo cookie pieces.
- Caramel crunch Frosty Fusion made with caramel sauce and toffee pieces.
Pricing information wasn’t immediately available.
“Frosty has been on Wendy’s menu for 55 years and is one of the most iconic frozen treats in American culture,” Lindsay Radkoski, head of marketing for The Wendy’s Company, said in the release.
“We know consumers are always on the lookout for new flavors and ways to customize their order,” she said.
Wendy’s didn’t say if Frosty Swirls and Fusions will be limited-time items, or if they will be here to stay.
