A “beloved” menu item is back at Qdoba, though it won’t stick around.

Citrus lime shrimp returned Tuesday, Jan. 28, at participating Qdoba restaurants nationwide, according to the fast-casual Mexican eatery.

Customers can also order ahead online or on the Qdoba mobile app, the restaurant said. Pricing information wasn’t immediately available.

The shrimp — sautéed with lime juice, garlic and spices — can be customized with popular toppings such as Qdoba’s three-cheese queso, or added to a build-your-own entrée, per a restaurant news release.

Qdoba said the “standout flavor” was inspired by Corporate Chef Katy Velazquez’s trips to Yucatán, Mexico.

“This is an ideal protein for seafood lovers or those looking to cut back on meat in their diets,” according to the release.

Citrus lime shrimp are available for a limited time, though Qdoba didn’t say for how long. McClatchy News reached out for more information Jan. 28 and was awaiting a response.
