Police in Ohio are investigating after they say a 3-year-old girl was killed by two dogs.

On Dec. 27, a man who identified himself as the father of 3-year-old Kingsley Wright called 911 to report she had been attacked, according to WXIX.

“I just woke up and my daughter is dead. There’s blood everywhere, I don’t know what happened,” he told dispatchers, the news outlet reported. “I don’t understand what went on.”

Just after 8 a.m., Kingsley was attacked by two dogs at a home in Roselawn, police told the Cincinnati Enquirer.

“I’m not going to get to see her sing or dance anymore,” Kingsley’s mom, Gina Smith, told WLWT. “I just want to know why and how.”

Smith told the news outlet that Kingsley was spending time with family for the holidays and she didn’t know the dogs were dangerous.

“I would have not left my baby around vicious dogs. Why would I do that?” Smith said.

The caller told police that the dogs were not loose, WXIX said.

Kingsley was a happy child “with a beautiful laugh and smile,” a GoFundMe page said.

“She loved to sing and dance for her family and always saw the positive and bright side of everything around her,” the GoFundMe page said.

Cincinnati Animal CARE removed three animals from the home and they are being quarantined for a 10-day period, WXIX reported.

Roselawn is about a 10-mile drive north from Cincinnati.
