Rescuers pulled 18 people from the San Francisco Bay after a boat carrying a rowing team capsized, California officials reported.

Officers received a distress call that a boat had overturned near a marina at 8:44 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, the Brisbane Police Department said in a news release.

U.S. Coast Guard rescuers pulled 15 people from the water, while three more were saved by police, the Coast Guard said in a news release.

San Francisco police later retrieved the boat and oars, the Coast Guard said.

All 18 people were medically evaluated and did not require treatment, police said.
