A brutal hit-and-run collision with an accused drunken driver killed two sisters, ages 3 and 4, California police reported.

A speeding Dodge Ram pickup truck hit a Honda Accord in an intersection, slamming it into a tow truck, at about 11 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, Rialto police said in a social media post and a news release sent to McClatchy News.

The driver did not stop for a red light, police said.

Two girls, ages 3 and 4, in the Honda with their parents were killed in the crash, police said.

“It’s horrific. It was 100% preventable,” Officer Rusty Lamm told KTTV.

The girls were identified as Neveah and Alinah Flores, a GoFundMe established to assist the family said. Their father, Marky Flores, suffered a broken femur in the crash.

“They were a joy,” grandmother Lisa Taylor Avilez told KABC. “We would have tea parties, riding bikes. I’m at a loss for words.”

“”Very lovable, sweet. Very smart. Smiling, always laughing!” aunt Emma Jean told KTTV.

Officers arrested the driver of the Dodge Ram, who is accused of fleeing the crash, a short distance away, police said.

Alexis Garcia, 28, of San Bernardino, faces a murder charge, police said.

An investigation continues, but police said there is “evidence Garcia was under the influence of alcohol when the collision occurred.”

“I’m angry. I’m angry. People do not need to be driving drunk,” Avilez told KTLA.

Police ask anyone with information on the crash to call Sgt. Dan Smith at 909-644-6025.

Rialto is about a 60-mile drive east from Los Angeles.
