A 39-year-old dad is going to prison after pleading guilty to killing his wife and fatally shooting his daughter, Alaska officials said.

In 2019, Tylan Lee-Kaulana Fely fatally shot his 30-year-old wife, Cecilia Tuuaga, in front of their 13-year-old daughter, Nevaeh Tuuaga, at their Anchorage home, according to an Oct. 29 news release by the Alaska Department of Law.

Fely then put his wife’s body in the car and took his daughter to a gas station, prosecutors said.

He waited on the phone with her while she bought a gas can and filled the car, officials said.

Then, he took her to an empty lot, fatally shot her and set the car ablaze with both bodies inside, the department said.

The bodies were found after a passerby alerted firefighters to a burning car, prosecutors said.

Days before their death, Cecilia Tuuaga requested a restraining order against Fely, requiring him to stay at least 500 feet away from their daughter and 250 feet away from her school, officials told KTUU.

After agreeing to plead guilty to two counts of second-degree murder, Fely is facing “100 years in jail with none suspended and will not be eligible for discretionary parole until he has served 55 years of his sentence,” officials said.

Fely is scheduled to reappear in court on March 7 for his sentencing, prosecutors said.
