Hunters see dust cloud then find dead driver next to overturned ATV, Utah officials say
A 51-year-old man was found dead after an ATV crash, Utah officials said.
On Oct. 21, hunters in Dove Creek saw a cloud of dust and went to investigate, according to a Facebook post by the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office.
That’s when they found Eric Edward from Bothwell dead alongside an overturned ATV 3-wheeler, deputies said.
Deputies, Utah Highway Patrol and Park Valley EMS came to the scene and the crash is being investigated, officials said.
The sheriff’s office urges the public to remember to be careful and cautious when using recreational vehicles, deputies said.
“The loss of a loved one always brings profound grief, and we extend our deepest condolences to all the family, friends, and community members affected by this tragic event,” the sheriff’s office said.
Dove Creek is about a 150-mile drive northwest of Salt Lake City.
