A man wanted in Massachusetts on child pornography charges was found at a remote hideout in the woods of Connecticut, U.S. Marshals said.

Steven Labrecque, 40, was arrested Oct. 21 at a “secluded campsite in Woodstock,” according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Authorities said Labrecque is “alleged to have been hiding for months” at the campsite.

Labrecque is wanted by Massachusetts police in Franklin and New Bedford “on charges of child pornography, photographing intimate parts of a child, intimidation of a witness, reckless endangerment of a child, threatening, obscene matter to a minor, assault, and battery,” according to the release.

McClatchy News was unable to locate attorney information for Labrecque.

Local law enforcement enlisted the help of the U.S. Marshals after attempts to locate Labrecque were unsuccessful.

Labrecque is in the custody of Connecticut State Police awaiting extradition back to Massachusetts, authorities said.

Woodstock is about a 50-mile drive northeast from Hartford.
