Body of missing 61-year-old found wrapped in plastic in closet, Pennsylvania cops say
When 61-year-old Lola Karabaeva hadn’t been seen in nearly a day, her neighbors went to Pennsylvania police, according to local media.
In the early hours of Sunday, Oct. 13, police learned the 61-year-old woman was missing.
Officers went to search her home days later on Oct. 16, according to Philadelphia police.
They found her body wrapped in plastic inside of a closet, police said, and pronounced her dead at the scene.
“This beautiful, kind and amazing woman was a true friend,” friends wrote in a GoFundMe.
Her husband, 65-year-old Vladimir Lushevskiy, was arrested and charged with abuse of a corpse, according to Philadelphia police.
Additional charges could be filed against the husband following further investigation, police said.
Neighbors said Karabaeva moved to the United States from Uzbekistan, WPVI reported.
“She was absolutely angel. She was an angel,” neighbor Marina Lipkovskya told WPVI.
Karabaeva’s cause of death is unknown.
