Girl visits animal shelter with mom every day. Then she ‘fell in love’ with Oreo
A kitty was adopted after a little girl “fell in love” with him — but they were almost kept apart, an Animal shelter said.
Oreo, formally known as Bruce, came to the Arizona Humane Society with his mom and littermates, where he was fostered before being old enough to be adopted, the shelter said in a Aug. 18 Facebook post.
The girl was in the Phoenix shelter’s summer camp when she saw Oreo while walking through the kennels, officials said.
The girl and her mom would visit Oreo every day, and he would “meow and meow” in hopes that they’d return, the shelter said. But it seemed Oreo was destined for another home, until a last minute twist of fate brought him and the girl together.
On the last day of the girl’s camp, Oreo’s foster family changed their mind, making him available for adoption, officials said.
“Timing was everything,” the shelter said.
“We are so happy Oreo found his forever home and lifelong friend,” the shelter said, adding “he is one loved kitten.”
