Remains found in crashed car identified as man missing for a year, Oregon cops say
Skeletal remains have been identified as a man who went missing in 2023, Oregon officials said.
On June 22, 2023, Medford radiologist Graham Case, 47, was last seen leaving his home in his Mercedes SUV, Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies said in an October news release.
Search and rescue personnel were using a drone to search the area while responding to an unrelated call Aug. 6, according to an Aug. 9 Facebook post by deputies.
After being led to a broader area, officers found Case’s crashed Mercedes SUV in “densely forested terrain,” officials said.
“It was completely obscured,” sheriff spokesperson Aaron Lewis told the Rogue Valley Times. “This (case) would’ve been very difficult to close.”
A medical examiner came to the scene and collected the remains found inside the car with the help of a search and rescue tactical rope rescue team, officials said.
The remains were later identified as Case, officials said.
Medford is about a 270-mile drive southeast of Portland.
