A 62-year-old “beloved” community member was found dead in a backyard with stab wounds, her son told Texas deputies, according to video posted by KHOU.

Dana Magnuson was “beloved by everyone who knew her,” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a July 29 post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Her body was found July 20 in Houston, but it took days of searching for police to locate a suspect.

“Our team has been working tirelessly on the follow-up investigation and will continue to do so until her killer is identified and brought to justice,” Gonzalez said on July 23.

Nine days after her body was found, a 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with murder, Gonzalez said.

The teen was taken to a juvenile detention facility, deputies said. His name was not released due to his age.
