UPDATE: The 16-year-old escapee was located in Georgetown, Massachusetts, after 5 a.m. on July 30, the South Portland Police Department said in a news release. When he was apprehended, the other escapee, 18-year-old Davyn Flynn, was still at large, according to authorities. Flynn has since been taken into custody, police said in an update on July 30.

A 16-year-old and 18-year-old are on the run after Maine police said they escaped a youth detention center and stole a woman’s car at a nearby apartment complex.

The 18-year-old was identified as Davyn Flynn, of Portland, according to a July 29 update from the South Portland Police Department. Authorities didn’t release the younger escapee’s name.

“If you have contact with the two suspects, do not approach them; call your local police department or 9-1-1,” the department said in a news release.

Flynn and the teen fled the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland the evening of July 26, according to police.

They headed to the Liberty Commons apartment complex, about a mile drive from the youth facility, where they “forcibly” pulled a woman out of her car and drove off in the vehicle, police said.

“A weapon was threatened, but one was never displayed,” authorities said.

The woman’s car was found abandoned the morning of July 27 in Casco, about a 30-mile drive northwest of the apartment complex, according to police.

On July 29, arrest warrants were issued for Flynn and the 16-year-old, police said.

They’re both charged with robbery, criminal threatening, assault and terrorizing, according to authorities.

South Portland Police Department spokeswoman Janet D. Vangeli told McClatchy News that there haven’t been any updates since the evening of July 29.

The Maine Department of Corrections Fugitive Investigation Apprehension Team, federal and local authorities are searching for Flynn and the 16-year-old, according to the state Department of Corrections.

Anyone with information about Flynn and the teen can contact Detective Jon Stearns at 207-799-5511 Ext. 7212 (jstearns@southportland.org) or Detective Lt. Christopher Todd at 207-799-5511 Ext. 7448 (christo@southportland.org), the South Portland Police Department said.
