A woman discovered her parents shot to death in the couple’s Ohio home, authorities say.

The Sunday, June 23, incident near Lewisburg is being investigated as a murder-suicide, the Preble County Sheriff’s Office said in a June 25 news release.

The daughter called 911 when she made the grim discovery at her parents’ home, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies found 56-year-old Angela Hayslett had been shot by her husband, 60-year-old Matthew Hayslett, according to the sheriff. The husband was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.

The husband and wife “were living together on and off” at the home, but the sheriff’s office did not offer any details about what led to the incident.

Autopsies were performed Monday at the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, according to the sheriff. The case remains under investigation.

Lewisburg is about a 25-mile drive northwest from Dayton.
