Husband convinces wife lottery win is real with a screenshot. ‘I couldn’t believe it’
A man’s wife didn’t believe him when he told her he won a big lottery prize in Maryland, so he sent her a screenshot.
The lucky winner scored a $50,000 prize.
His mom had given him a birthday card with $20, the Maryland Lottery said in a June 21 news release.
He decided to spend the money on one lottery ticket: a $1 Million Royale scratch-off at a beer and wine shop in Gaithersburg, lottery officials said.
When he scanned the ticket using his lottery app, he realized he won $50,000.
“I couldn’t believe it,” he told lottery officials.
He immediately called his wife and told her the news, but she didn’t believe him at first.
“She thought it was fake,” he told lottery officials. “I took a screenshot and sent it to her.”
Now, the man has plans to buy a new vehicle and pay off his credit card.
Gaithersburg is about a 45-mile drive southwest from Baltimore.
