Body of missing Missouri man found in Texas park, cops say. ‘Was praying it wasn’t him’
The body of a missing Missouri man has been found in a Texas park, according to officials.
On June 14, the body of Jarvis McIntyre was found in a creek bed in San Antonio, according to a news release from the San Antonio Police Department.
A 911 call was made at about 1:35 p.m. on June 9. Police said the caller told dispatchers he was being chased by someone with a rifle. The caller didn’t give many details on where he was, though.
Officers searched the area but did not find the caller or any witnesses.
Monikki Tippet, McIntyre’s mom, told KENS that police told her about the 911 call and said McIntyre reportedly called someone chasing him a “racist.”
“I was praying it wasn’t him,” she told the news outlet.
An initial autopsy didn’t find a clear cause or manner of death. A toxicology report is pending, officials said.
Police say his death is being investigated, but as of now, they do not suspect foul play.
However, his family thinks otherwise. Tippet told KENS that McIntyre didn’t have a phone, wallet, keys or shoes when he was found, according to detectives. She believes someone hurt him because of his skin color or sexual orientation.
McIntyre was a former Navy sailor from the St. Louis area, according to KMOV. He went to San Antonio to visit his siblings.
