A lucky Powerball player in New Jersey won $1 million after narrowly missing the $45 million jackpot, lottery officials said.

The player matched five of the white balls but missed the red Powerball during the Monday, June 17, drawing.

The winning ticket was bought at ShopRite of Livingston, according to the New Jersey Lottery.

The winning numbers were 30, 48, 53, 58, 66 and 9.

No one hit the jackpot during the drawing, so the prize money has grown to $56 million for the Wednesday, June 19, drawing.

A New Jersey player hit the Powerball jackpot worth $222.6 million in the June 10 drawing.

Livingston is about a 10-mile drive northwest from Newark.
