A man is accused of attacking multiple women hiking alone on Colorado trails, according to a sheriff’s office.

The “sexual predator” is accused of targeting women hiking in the Conifer and Evergreen areas and running “off into the woods, avoiding capture,” the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in a July 26 Facebook post.

During the first incident on April 3, deputies said a naked man approached a hiker and “touched her buttocks.”

There have since been five additional attacks, one in June and four more in July, the sheriff’s office said.

With each incident, one at Alderfer Three Sisters Park and the rest at Flying J Ranch Park, the sheriff’s office said the man’s “behavior has become more aggressive.”

In the most recent attack on July 23, the man is accused of approaching a female hiker “while masturbating,” deputies said. He then grabbed the woman and “tried to rip off her clothing,” deputies said.

The so-far-unidentified man is described as being 20 to 30 years old with a “fit/athletic build” and dark hair, deputies said. In some instances, he’s worn a “dark-colored backpack.”

Anyone with information that may help identify a suspect or additional victims is asked to contact deputies at 303-271-0211.

Conifer is about 30 miles southwest of downtown Denver.
