A Texas teenager was run over by a vehicle after a fight broke out during a party in Plainview, police told news outlets.

Officers with the Plainview Police Department responded to the scene, on the town’s north side, at about 2 a.m. on July 2, the department told KCBD. Several teens were there, “frantic” as they told officers what happened.

A fight started at a party down the street and spilled outside, police told the Plainview Herald. Then a black vehicle plowed into a crowd, hitting and seriously injuring a 15-year-old boy.

The teen was driven to a hospital and is in critical condition, police told KLBK, adding that a suspect has been identified and an investigation is underway.

McClatchy News reached out to the Plainview Police Department for more information.

Plainview, a town of around 20,000 people, is roughly 75 miles south of Amarillo.
