A 54-year-old man is accused of hiding cameras in a Starbucks bathroom in California, prosecutors say.

Steven John Novelli was charged on Monday, Aug. 29, with 83 felony and misdemeanor charges, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

Those charges included attempting to produce child pornography, eavesdropping, installing a hidden camera and burglary.

Novelli is accused of twice hiding cameras in a Starbucks bathroom in Walnut Creek at 1340 Main St., prosecutors said.

Authorities found digital evidence he had hid the cameras after conducting a search warrant on his home on Aug. 10, the release states.

He was then arrested on Aug. 25.

Police ask anyone who was at the Starbucks this year on June 4 and July 23 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to contact Walnut Creek Detective Tyler Bertolozzi at tbertolozzi@walnutcreekpd.com.

Novelli’s arraignment is Aug. 30.

Walnut Creek is about 25 miles northeast of San Francisco.
