A 30-year-old Aurora man accused of driving while intoxicated hit a bicycle and three vehicles, killing a woman and her 5-year-old daughter, Colorado police said.

A mother and her 5-year-old daughter died in Aurora in a series of crashes caused by an accused drunken driver, Colorado police reported.

Juan Pablo Pasqal-Licea hit a bicycle and three vehicles at 8:13 p.m. Friday, April 8, Aurora police said in a news release.

The 30-year-old veered into oncoming traffic in his Honda CRV and first hit an electric bicycle, police told KCNC. The cyclist jumped off and escaped injury.

Then Pasqal-Licea crashed into another Honda CRV, killing a 41-year-old woman and 5-year-old girl inside, police said. A 43-year-old man and 9-year-old boy were hurt.

He then slammed into two more vehicles stopped at a red light before coming to a halt, police said. The occupants of those vehicles were not injured.

Pascal-Licea was treated for his injuries and arrested on charges including vehicular homicide and driving under the influence, police said.
