E-bike crash causes major traffic delays on busy Bradenton road, police say

A crash involving a juvenile riding an e-bike temporarily shut down the Palma Sola Causeway Friday afternoon, causing severe traffic delays for motorists traveling to and from Anna Maria Island.

Bradenton police said shortly before noon that officers were investigating a crash with injuries involving a juvenile on an e-bike west of Robinson Preserve.

Florida 511 reported all lanes closed near Flamingo Cay Drive following the crash. By 12:25 p.m., all lanes had reopened, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

The juvenile had collided with a vehicle and was “alert” after the crash, police said. The child was transported to a hospital as a precaution, according to police.

Additional information about the crash was not immediately available Friday afternoon.
