Road closures planned for Manatee County, one lasting 45 days
The Florida Department of Transportation is fully closing the intersection of County Road 675 and State Road 70 for 45 days, according to a Manatee County social media post.
Work began on Monday, April 20, and is expected to continue through June 5, according to the post.
According to officials, the East Manatee County intersection will undergo a full reconfiguration as part of the SR 70 Improvement Project.
Emergency vehicles and official traffic will be allowed in the intersection, but no through traffic is permitted, the post says.
The county urges drivers to detour using Bourneside Boulevard, State Road 64, County Road 675 and Verna Bethany Road.
Other road closures planned
Manatee County also announced two other local road closures that will occur this week.
Parkland Drive in Bradenton is scheduled to undergo two overnight closures on Thursday, April 23 and Friday 24, the county said in a social media post.
From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., only local traffic will be permitted to travel on the road.
The county urges drivers to use Whitfield Industrial Avenue, 63rd Avenue East and Trailmate Drive to detour around the area.
The other closure will affect part of Bella Road off Ft. Hamer Road in Parrish from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, the county said. Drivers should U.S. 301 to access Bella Road rather than Ft. Hamer Road.
That closure is scheduled for work on a water main crossing for commerical development in the area, the county said.
Drivers should watch for crews and equipment, and allow extra time when traveling through these areas, according to the county.
